It’s been making its way into the inboxes of Cape Town’s underground muso scene, building anticipation about who will perform this coming Monday. Word on the backburner is that Studio 7 is about to rock-it-out Indie style, and if you guessed it right you might be one of the select few to wax lyrical from this Sea Point sitting room.Yup, you heard me. Intimate, stripped-down & unplugged. That’s what Studio 7 is all about. I witnessed it for the first time last weekend, when this wacked-out hippy sung to me in a medley of eastern European gypo-beats. Turns out long-haired Charlie, along with the incredibly gifted Dom on the accordion, delivered the most talented and original afro-balkan fusion I have ever heard. This Monday, host with the most, Patrick Lowry Craig, will open the doors to his high-level road pad, to reveal a band of different sorts. Rumour has it over 240 people entered into the guessing game. But don’t you worry…He likes to keep things cosy. 60 lucky guests, local celebs and media will sip on a whisky (or three) and jam to a multi-platinum selling band.
